Now It's Time To Live It!

Hello everyone, I’m back! You’re never going to be able to guess what I’ve been up to? I’ve been helping on a design project in Mississippi with a wonderful couple that is redoing their forever home in the country, inside and out. It’s amazing!

They happen to have a brother that I fell in love with, and we’re getting married!  We’re planning an April wedding and it’s all very exciting. Remember all that chat about combining design styles?  Now, it’s real!

I’ve been fixing up the bachelor pad. I earned so many points from Pier 1 that I was able to take on a redo in the upstairs of my house in North Carolina also. Two long distance projects at the same time; while planning a wedding. I enjoy a challenge.

David has so many wonderful qualities, but as a sports writer he doesn’t have a lot of time for interior design! In a previous blog post he described his style as ‘Tornado Strikes Thrift Store’ or ‘Neoclassical Dorm Room’. Sounds like an interior design challenge, doesn’t it? We had some conversations  with statements like, “I need silverware and dishes that match” and “You can pick out all the furniture”.  You’ve gotta start somewhere.

We decided on a ‘modern rustic’ design style. Then the work of cleaning out all our stuff began. He has so much meaningful memorabilia, from Media Passes to baseballs and I, well, I have A LOT of accessories!!

I found out he liked copper. So here are just a few things that have been delivered to our house so far:

From the pine TV slash wine cabinet to the silver leather couch from Houzz, there have been constant UPS and USPS people coming to the house. I’m going to bring you along in the journey and let you know how things are going.

Since he is my editor now, maybe my writing will improve.
