Furniture Foible to Beautiful Perfection

Previously on ‘All Things Beautiful’, I described my trials while attempting to save a few dollars on my front bedroom re-do. Here are the amazing results:

First and foremost, I want to give a huge shout out to an AMAZING photographer Eric Pound. He is extremely versatile and look at his use of light! Check out his work on ericpound.com

I got a great amount of satisfaction from this project, once I got over all the frustration.

To complete the room, I did something that I absolutely love doing! I went ‘shopping in my house’. After ordering the comforter, sheets and pillow shams from a college dorm linen online store, I began to scour my home for some useful accessories.

I found some great things, for free of course!

The wooden wall hanging above the dresser is actually a plate charger. There is an antique pedestal candy jar with some brass napkin rings inside. The ‘picture on mirrors’ trio set are courtesy of West Elm. There are some wise and trendy quote cards I got on clearance from American Eagle intending to gift them. Some rearranging of decorative pillows and a Fourth of July basket with a throw inside add to the look. I took the Frenchy Mannequin from the corner of the bedroom and put a small circular grey and white rug in the doorway.

Voila! Of course, a picture of my grandson Andersen at the beach is the finishing touch.

So if you’re bored with your home or just a room, ‘go shopping your house’. Add a little paint, move the furniture (which lends itself to cleaning behind the big stuff) and rearrange the accessories from room to room.

Someone might even ask you who your decorator is.
